Down The Road

Cursed Juliet

Today is the best day of summer,

Simply because it rains,

DESPAIR IN LOVE

He is loved,

He is a source of sadness,

Right now he equals the world,

Somebody misses him almost like crazy,

Someone is on the verge of a deadly despair,

When he goes out for cigarettes,

The greatest fraud is his feelings,

I fell victim to his spite,

He is the biggest lie,

I call him love,

It is endless,

He listens to love songs of sirens,

They can’t do any harm to him,

I love crying on his shoulder,

But there is no much space,

I want to hold him,

I beg him to love me,

He thinks that I am his gift,

He doesn’t want to unwrap,

He talks to God about me,

Every prayer mentions my name,

You know God isn’t much of a talker,

I dare to think that God is a stalker,

He is a moving sand dune,

He is Virgin Mary’s watery stain,

I admire his beastly strength,

Thinking of him I’m always happy,

I wait for him to give me himself,

He is a dream,

I am a dreamer,

He flips the world as if it was a quarter,

Love is  an equation,

It stays forever unsolved,

He is a variable that changes faces,

He is discovery and revelation,

Without positrons and microscopes,

His crimes are hideous,

He is better than Sherlock Holmes,

At solving cold cases,

Someone may cry reading  these lines,

Tears are lovely, romantic and childish,

‘You should know’ he said,

I am always near,

Don’t ask me why’,

I never asked,

I wish the end was a beginning,

Nobody sees,

He blinds them all,

He is successful in wounding and healing,

Nobody sees how he changes brains,

Thoughts are like worms,

                                 They crawl in the dark,

I hate  the white of a ceiling,

I decided to stop time,

So that we enjoyed being together forever,

When we are happy, it rains,

He is a wreath,

It says Sleep in Peace, my love,

We share the same grave,

The safest crypt of Never.

Down The Road

Pride, Prejudice, Doubt

LIGHTBEAM

I swear,

 I won’t say a thing what I have witnessed,

I want to know the truth,

Who is he?

Does he hide in the white or black boxes?

Maybe he is pitch-black darkness,

Is he afraid of daylight?

I don’t have a clue,

Cockroach Philosophy Teacher  creeps closer to Shades Queen.

COCKROACH  PHILOSOPHY  TEACHER (flirtingly)

I love aggressive women,

I love being stalked and chased,

We are a match made in heaven,

It drives me crazy to know,

There is one irresistible creature,

Who can share the sunrise with me,

Who can be always near to up my down mindset,

I dream about being noticed,

One day you’ll lay your eye on me,

Let me touch you,

My hope will be dead if you refuse to hold it,

I’ll rave the word ‘love’ in all tongues ever spoken,

It’s always hot to be caught in the places where you are forbidden to be,

SHADES QUEEN (with obvious disgust)

I’ll play under one condition,

If cockies  vanish from my visual field,

Lock them in the jar,

Send them back to the kitchen,

I want a strong guarantee,

They won’t escape from their prison,

These weirdos from Madagascar deserve the worst fate,

BREATHTAKING and FRAGILE

It’s funny to watch people’s reaction,

When they face cockies being kept as pets,

Some people wince,

The majority is disgusted,

Some people are frightened,

Only few daredevils are open minded,

To touch, to pat, to hold them in their hands,

Book of Crosswords angrily chases roaches with a well-sharpened pencil. Cockroach Philosophy Teacher hides under the saucer. Book of Crosswords  drops into a deep bow before Shades Queen.

I give you my word, madam,

No harasser will ever annoy you again,

Don’t sow doubts,

And you won’t reap tears,

The sunrise is awesome,

But it’s due to expire,

                                  Mesdames, Messieurs,

S’il vous plait,

 Clues!

Down The Road

Horizontal Truths

Youngsters hissers greedily attack biscuits crumbs.

COCKROACH  PHILOSOPHY  TEACHER (angrily wriggling his well-groomed moustache)

You are late one more time,

It’s outrageous,

What will you do with your life?

You don’t think at all about your future,

What is the future?

I’ve just asked you a question,

Before you answer, remember,

The answer to the future is in the present time,

YOUNGSTERS HISSERS (timidly)

Our future are almond biscuits,

We’ll find them here tomorrow night,

The landlord never changes his habits,

Strolling among pans and ladles,

We’ve overheard forks talking,

Something terrible will happen at night,

COCKROACH  PHILOSOPHY  TEACHER (with triumph)

Almond biscuits is your fragile present,

Will you make it another day?

Not your bodies,

Your heads must be hungry,

See the error of your ways,

Where is gluttony of your mind?

You are grounded for being lazy,

No holidays, no tarts,

On your bike,

I want to see your parents,

DESPAIR IN LOVE  (melancholically)

We are horrors,

No one is an exception,

We are victims of our pride,

I feel a big tragedy coming,

I can predict disaster,

Lock up silence for life,

Because silence stabs us in the heart,

Book of Crosswords comes down and adopts  an air of a  showman wearing a sequin jacket.

BOOK OF CROSSWORDS (tapping a fine china cup with a silver spoon)

Ladies and gentlemen!

Here I am,

Cheer up,

It is a game night,

Don’t forget to place your bets,

Everyone wins,

Among us there is a newcomer,

I am a superb mind breaker,

Submit your questions and don’t be afraid,

The rule is don’t cheat,

It isn’t poker,

Don’t put out the fire,

When the right answer is found,

The fire burns out,

It means this is the end.

Down The Road

Vertical Lies

HISSER PARENTS

 Listen, listen to your teacher,

He has something important to say,

COCKROACH  PHILOSOPHY  TEACHER

When everything is clean and clear,

Life misses creative excitement,

You are descendants of the glorious Hisser,

Don’t let his efforts go down the drain,

BOOK OF CROSSWORDS (yawning)

I was swallowed by darkness and chaos,

But now I am back,

What are all these screams about?

Run to hide in a crack,

SHADES QUEEN

Don’t make us wait, dear,

Insinuate horror into our heads,

Did hordes of angels attack you?

Did they threaten to break a crystal rock?

BOOK OF CROSSWORDS (flattered)

Wisdom sat on it,

It was its throne,

All lands were attacked by evil hordes,

Feelings were thunders,

There was no time to ponder,

Nevertheless everyone took up arms,

Four mighty men were in command,

They led armies of four nations,

Intelligence, Wisdom, Smartness and Wit,

The unseen power paid the price for defeat very quickly,

Enemies outnumbered,

They saved power for hundreds of years,

More than three angels to one glorious fighter,

In a blink of an eye,

It was the bloodshed,

One battle decided the war,

Merciless angels were white with rage,

A thin veil of mist is still there,

The blood of the dead is in the air,

The last of the Wise fled in awe,

So did I,

Now I’m here,

I still see the massacre field in my dreams,

The Valley of Red Mist,

(The Book of Crosswords wipes away a lonely teardrop rolling down the book cover).

COCKROACH  PHILOSOPHY  TEACHER

Pal, don’t be upset,

We are tragic heroes,

We are survivors,

You won’t believe how many times I escaped,

From boots serial killers,

From insecticides and traps,

From poisonous lemon pies,

From cruel intentions,

You are with us now,

Here all horrors are silent,

Here we all are safe.
