What does the cat purr in your ear?

A Tree In Silver Armour.

In the heart of a midnight shadow,

A towering tree grew,

Everyone praised its beauty,

How unhappy it was,

No one ever knew,

Growing strong and audacious,

Refusing  to bow in front of the sky,

Feeling lonely and being all alone,

It grew around objects,

Engulfing a ‘no trespassing sign’,

Who planted it?

There was no answer,

Not even a tree could tell,

Daylight brought little compassion,

On the feathers of Paradise tails,

Attracted to its silver leafage,

Birds keep tweeting about themselves,

Using its loving branches,

They fall asleep after sunset,

Dawn is the time for promotion,

Flaws look like beauty marks,

Bobbing on slender stems,

Flowers dangled and danced,

Reflected in morning silver,

Sending greetings to busy sunrise,

Have plants intelligence?

Sure,

They feel with stamens,

With pistils they think,

If you believe otherwise,

You are a botanical racist,

Simply flowers don’t speak,

Katydids paid night visits,
They were  heard more,

Than they were seen,

They  slept and sang on the top,

Katydids were smart,

But they couldn’t find a proper word,

Because they were not a tree,

It was nobody’s fault,

Who spoke the language of trees?

The tree stopped to look around,

For someone who understands,

It painted the air white,

It painted the grass black,

As black as your carpet,

And flowers on my rug,

Flowers are always happy,

As long as they have dirt,

Dirt becomes color and scent,

They grow and bloom everywhere,

In beautiful meadows,

In any container and flower pots,

One autumn day like others,

It didn’t differ from night,

Everything was as usual,

Except for the lazy sunlight,

It was about fifteen carat gold,

Because twenty one doesn’t rhyme,

While the tree’s silver amour was shining,

 The white background suddenly cracked.

What does the cat purr in your ear?

If Geppetto had  started making  his marionettes upside down, Pinocchio would have been a real boy. The luckiest boy on the Earth.

Where were you?

It makes no sense,

We get accustomed to living,

The reality of one moment

I swear ‘I’ll never do it again’,

Are only desperate words,

Reproaching me,

For frivolities of my longings,

We hide behind selfishness walls,

Looking for exits in darkness,

The finish line is a dead end,

Leaving us with the same quest,

Really why did we want it?

Imagine we both are tall and blue-eyed,

Suntanned in the middle of winter,

Can Greece become blooming Norway?

Can the South turn into the North?

Without pushing the Earth,

Off its shabby falling  apart axis,

Can God re-make us?

No way,

 Can god  re-write us?

Yes,

We do it by  ourselves,

We inflate  flat self-esteem,

Trying to fix punctured pride,

Of whoever is next to us,

I am among rapists and killers,

And obsessions about revenge,

All of them dance to your music,

It’s weird,

You know,

 I am not scared,

I become one of them,

Being caught by a wave of protest,

I thought you would not recognize me,

I explode into one million parts,

Like a terrorist kamikaze,

My brain falls on the neighboring roofs,

When death doesn’t differ from life,

We are LSD hallucinations,

Starting to lose shape,

You hardly believe I am real,

Maybe I am only one of your visions,

They’d love to haunt you to death,

Things didn’t go the way we planned them,

We didn’t have a plan,

We had a crazy desire,

We wanted to stay together,

Till silly death do us part,

We used to seek self- destruction,

It’s the sickest way of suicide,

You had undercover intentions,

You decided to kill me first,

Saving me from the past.

P.S. This piece was written a couple of days before the sad event took place. I’ve always been against ideologies stained with the blood of the innocent. It was used as a strong metaphor.

What does the cat purr in your ear?

Stay…

‘In the only one  one-on-one battle,

Both can be winners,

Rich people have separate bedrooms’,

‘Not only rich people,

And both sexes capricious divas.

The moment I saw you tonight,

You tried to strangle your terror,

You shed tears,

Everything cried,

I shuddered and held tight your heart,

It was familiar touch,

You’d got the look of fear,

I was afraid too,

I was afraid you would see,

Clouds gathering in my pupils,

It is a bad sign,

The dimension I stay in,

Doesn’t forgive the fragile,

Making you weak feelings,

They scream in my head,

Each word that comes out,

Cuts off a piece of my soul,

Somebody whispers,

Crashing my head,

‘You don’t belong anywhere

You can’t befriend anybody’,

It stops when my mind is empty,

No one and nothing make sense,

For you it’s a silent moment,

For me mutilated years,

They hit the walls of my pseudo-illusions,

As if we broke a glass,

As if you forbade me,

To clean off the smallest invisible splinters,

In the morning we find on the pillow,

Nothing but only the shrouds,

Of yesterday dead dreams,

Clay shards of being us,

When was the last time,

We really trusted somebody,

After we close our eyes?

People come,

People ask,

Whether it hurts when we love them,

Who has ever said you ‘forgive me’,

Slamming the doors of your heart?

 The Universe conspires,

Making all dreams come true,

You ask me whether I saw it,

Interrogating me,

It isn’t sad anymore if conspiracy is true,

The Universe only conspires,

I saw it with my own eyes,

You are afraid of getting involved,

But you are already in,

You’ve colonized my thoughts,

I’ll stay until the sunrise,

I’ll stay if you find two reasons,

That won’t collide being at war,

They won’t exclude each other,

Feel no guilt,

Feel no frustration,

Don’t say,

‘I don’t imagine my life,

Without being you by my side’,

Everything starts with ‘Stay’,

Nothing starts with ‘I love’.

What does the cat purr in your ear?

I returned to my God. Hunger brings me to you again  and again.

‘You’ve never asked me about the tunnel,

You never believed I would get so high’,

‘How it was in the cave?

Light and serene,

Was it death hole darkness?’

‘You haven’t changed a bit,

Sarcastic mood favors your way,

The hole-cave was very narrow,

Overcrowded with positive stuff,

It wasn’t the time to return,

But it was the time to move on,

It was difficult to get out,

Corroding the Universe,

Others keep coming behind,

God was the farthest,

Devil was near,

‘Don’t climb, don’t hurt, stay with me,

I’ll sing you a nursery rhyme,

Do you hear?

I sing it to all my children,

It’s about a little kind Eskimo,

‘One million years he had been trying,

To melt an icebound igloo,

The world saw the Coldest Pole,

The wise serpent spoke Hebrew’,

It’s a piece of the void,

It is nothing,

Don’t expect God to love you,

God doesn’t know how,

I will always belong to you’,

There was no room for being unfaithful,

Infidelity was his pray,

It happened to be unconscious,

I couldn’t do otherwise,

As if I had no choice,

You understand me,

You and I are the same,

Now I fall for blue haired angels,

Gazing at me with curly blond eyes,

I have dinner with skinny saints,

Badly emaciated,

They pray and praise,

They are ever fasting,

They lock miracles in candy jars,

The sun was gone,

I deleted the sky,

Everything froze to death,

From here it’s one step to her,

Her majesty the guillotine,

She sells memories at retail,

She sells eyes to the highest bidders,

Trying to fall asleep,

I fiddle away daylight,

Counting scarred walls,

Feeling the prowling touch,

Of ratting rag pickers’ demeanor,

I am a leftover dish,

I am the leavings of feelings’,

‘We all are leftovers of love,

Why have you come?’

‘I have felt sick’,

‘Why have you come?’

‘You see I still feel?

Something has gone wrong,

Something you did isn’t right,

Why are you so endless?

Why am I so starving?’

What does the cat purr in your ear?

Every House Has Inexplicable Noises.

Loving Ones.

 I only listen and answer,

I put up the weirdest stunt,

I lived as long as I danced it,

Last night I gave a recital,

A killer is always dancing alone,

A killer dances at night,

Here we leave doors open,

Everyone enters,

No one loots,

If you’ve decided to find your twin soul,

You have to start from somewhere,

My grave is the luckiest spot,

I’m still an ideal woman,

I live a relaxed life,

All my past I loved making choices,

They are said to be purblind,

I loved people with dirty criminal record,

With the eyes,

That are larger than a barren landscape,

Criminal mind is more dangerous,

Without being caught red-handed,

When conscience is snow-white,

My realm is inhabited with shiny creatures,

The nation of glowworms,

I belong with a shiny race,

I am the last prediction,

I am my God’s donation,

You are heartily welcome to our fraud,

Everything average, bleak and mundane,

Are not allowed to enter,

Don’t demand their loss,

Bequeath them to the dying world,

Here time of decay runs much faster,

There are herbicide free wars,

No war is without music,

Music is you and I,

Leave any time if you can,

It’s very important to know,

How to move in my realm,

When my sinful eyes are coming down,

‘Law’ rhymes with ‘flaw’,

It’s an answer,

Two currencies of one abuse,

You’d kill to stay here,

I gave you my heart since forever,

So wear it on your wrist.

It’s the end of the short tour,

In the Valley of Love Springs,

You are granted to love here,

You are granted my citizenship,

I’ll be honored and happy to have you,

On utterly equal terms,

Not as a lawful subject,

But as the only ally,

Coming to me from the Earth,

I promise your stay will be ecstatic,

You are underworld sacrifice,

We are divinely insane,

We are insanely rich,

It’s the marriage of Hell and Heaven,

I am against wars,

Think no more and cross,

The crying angels’ bridge,

On the way to your paradise.
